What is Numerology ?

Numerology, as per Indian astrology, is a belief system that assigns significance to numbers and their influence on a person’s life. In Indian numerology, each number is associated with specific qualities and vibrations that can impact an individual’s personality, behavior, and destiny.

The practice of Indian numerology typically involves the following key elements:

  1. Single-digit numbers: In Indian numerology, numbers are reduced to a single digit by adding the digits together until a single-digit number is obtained. For example, the number 456 would be reduced to 4 + 5 + 6 = 15, and then further reduced to 1 + 5 = 6.
  2. Number interpretations: Each single-digit number is believed to have its own unique characteristics and influences. These interpretations are based on ancient texts and traditions. For example:
    • Number 1 is associated with leadership, independence, and ambition.
    • Number 2 is associated with cooperation, diplomacy, and balance.
    • Number 3 is associated with creativity, expression, and sociability.
    • And so on for numbers up to 9.
  3. Life path number: In Indian numerology, the life path number is calculated using a person’s date of birth. This number is believed to represent the path that an individual will follow in life and is considered significant for understanding one’s strengths, weaknesses, and life purpose.
  4. Name numerology: Indian numerology also assigns numerical values to the letters of the alphabet. By converting a person’s name into numbers and then adding them together, a numerical value is obtained which is believed to influence various aspects of that person’s life, including personality traits and destiny.
  5. Compatibility analysis: Indian numerology is also used for compatibility analysis between individuals. By comparing and analyzing the life path numbers and name numbers of two people, numerologists believe they can determine the compatibility of their personalities and potential for a harmonious relationship.
